Technical Parameters of Jet Mining

Jet Mining can be used and adapted for all types of subsurface parameters.

Kinley’s newly designed triple wall Hydraulic Borehole Mining Pipe is engineered to handle the toughest mining conditions and applications.  The system features heavy-duty threaded connections with 140,000 ft/lb (190 kNm) torque rating and tensile load at yield of 830,000 lbs (376,300 kg).  This Kinley triple tube system is designed to operate in conjunction with our Miner.

The Hydraulic Borehole Mining Pipe is engineered for velocities and pressure loss factoring for deep vertical, horizontal and extended wells up to 5,000 feet (1,500 meters).  The pipe is rated for operating capacity of 750 gpm (170 m3/hr) of eductor fluid flow and 500 gpm (114 m3/hr) of high-pressure jet fluid flow and 1,500 gpm (340 m3/hr) of slurry flow thru the inner discharge pipe.  The rated pressure capacities are in excess of our operating parameters of 2,000 psi (138 Bar) for the eductor, 5,000 psi (345 Bar) for the jet and 1,000 psi (69 Bar) for the slurry return.  Depending on the application airlift technology can be used within the pipe instead of eduction or to enhance fluid flows.

The miner utilizes laminar flow technology to enhance the high production cutting capacity.  The jetting nozzles have options for high strength steel, nickel, synthetic diamond, ruby, sapphire or ceramic inserts for high wear resistance and long-term uniformity of the jet stream.  The uniform stream has the ability to disaggregate the material increasing the corresponding production rate.
